Frequently Asked Questions

How long do media transfers take?

To transfer your photo and film negatives we scan each slide individually. It’s a very manual process, ensuring negatives are scanned at the correct orientation and then inverting them in our editing software.

Each negative takes around 4-mins to scan, because we scan at a high resolution, so our clients can edit or print their photos.

Generally we’d allow a couple of weeks to complete an order of over 100 photo negatives, but smaller orders have shorter turnaround times.

If you need your film negatives transferred quickly please let us know ahead of time so we can accommodate tight deadlines

Is there are bulk discount for large orders?

Unfortunately we don’t offer a discount for large orders.

Can I print my photos out once the film negatives are scanned?

Yes, we scan each negative at a high resolution and you should have no problems printing photos out once we’ve scanned them.

We scan each negative at 4800ppi and, on average, most photo files are a bit larger than 6000px x 4000px.

What size USB do I need to put my scanned photo negatives onto?

Great questions – As a rule-of-thumb, most film negatives are around 10MB once transferred.

It’s important to keep in mind that the actual storage space on a USB or hard drive is usually around 80%, as a rule of thumb, of what was advertised. That means if you have an 8GB USB you may only be able to fit 7GB of data on there.

Do you develop rolls of film?

Unfortuantely we don’t develop rolls of film.
We can only scan film negatives that have already been processed.
