Fyona and Dave

Dream Camera: Phantom TMX 7510 or practical work a Arrii Alexa LF with a Fujinon UA107 lens.

Best part of my job: Problem-solving

The thing I love most about filming is: I love the energy on set – monitoring equipment, chatting with clients, working alongside other contractors and working with our team – it’s one of my favourite places to be.

When I’m not working I’m always researching equipment or filming techniques, building scale models or working on new creative projects.

I’m happiest when: Honestly, there is this moment straight after pressing record on the camera and watching the client talking or acting that I feel so honoured to capture. It’s this great feeling, to know you are helping someone towards their goal.

Movie I could watch a hundred times: Bowfinger.

Podcast obsession: Anything radio drama! At the moment I’m loving Tumanbay.

I collect vintage camera gear

I’d happily eat pizza every day.

If I had a time machine I’d travel back to meet: Georges Méliès – a French Illusionist

When I was little I wanted to be an inventor..

Best TV quote: Yippie kayak other buckets – Boyle from Brooklyn 99

Best car karaoke song: One Week by the Barenaked ladies

If I was stuck on a desert island I’d take: A book about ‘How to swim far distances for dummies’

Best part of my job: Productive days in the office

The thing I love most about filming is: Seeing how good the shot looks on the monitor

When I’m not working I’m: watching Netflix and hunting through Facebook Marketplace

I’m happiest when: I’m at home

Movie I could watch a hundred times: Jurassic World

Podcast obsession: Just the Gist

I’m addicted to: Drinking tea, buying plants and inflicting unrequited love onto my cats

I love: Saturday mornings and Spotify

I hate: coconut

Snack of choice: Chocolate sponge rolls

I collect: Plants

I’d happily eat potato every day.

When I was little I wanted to be a truck driver when I grew up.

Favourite part of my day: First cup of tea

TV Show I can’t stop recommending: Love My Way

Best car karaoke song: Thrift Shop by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

If I was stuck on a desert island I’d take: a boat

Best part of my job: Learning so many new things.

The thing I love most about editing is: When clips fit exactly in time with the music.

When I’m not working I’m: Spending time with my cat, dancing or making up dances, and sometimes watching people make funky outfits on tiktok.

I’m happiest when: Cats.

Favourite things to watch: Commentary videos about bad movies (there’s no shortage of bad Christmas movies).

Favourite part of the day: I set an alarm half an hour before I have to get up in the morning so I get to enjoy laying in bed for a while before doing anything.

Movie I could watch a hundred times: Any movie if I could get paid.

I’m addicted to: Drinking water maybe? I really like water and I’m always thirsty.

I love: Spending lots of time with my family and friends, dancing classes and performing on stage, learning new things and cats.

I hate: Popcorn, mustard and mustard seeds, when my phone storage is full, soft drink, mosquitos, and when balloons pop.

Snack of choice: Black olives.

I collect: Old teacups to put plants in, and other trinkets or glass dishes I Iike from op-shops.

I’d happily eat something with avocado on it every day (and I do).

Topic to debate: Everyone argues whether pineapple belongs on pizza but I think we should discuss banana on pizza. My pizza of choice would include both pineapple and banana.

When I was little I wanted to be a presenter for the news or for infomercials, making YouTube videos, or a dance choreographer. I still think all of these would be interesting.

Best car karaoke song: Bohemian Rhapsody

If I was stuck on a desert island I’d take: A really fancy boat that has everything needed, with a personal chef and a skilled crew so I can enjoy myself on the voyage home and they just sort everything out.

Also, I could bring my old DSi and I could use the time to look after my Nintendogs who probably haven’t been fed in a few years. And maybe a mini trampoline just for something different.

Wollongong, NSW, Australia is our base but not our boundary.
We love to travel – let’s talk.
